A staple in many Mexican homes, this soup is a favorite for children of all ages.

Ingredients
  • 1 jar Molli Morelos cooking sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pkg. 7.5 oz. alphabet soup
  • 8 cups of chicken broth
  • Salt to taste
  • FOR GARNISH:
  • 1 avocado diced
  • ½ cup of Mexican Queso Fresco
  • Sour cream
Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the alphabet pasta and fry until slightly brown (stir often to avoid burning the pasta), about 2 minutes.

  2. Pour the Molli Morelos cooking sauce, bring to a boil, and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add the chicken broth, season with salt, place lid on the pot, and simmer for 8-10 more minutes. Check pasta for doneness.
  4. Serve immediately with garnishes on the side. Provecho!
