Beef Tips Veracruzana are a variation of a traditional Mexican dish called Puntas de Filete a la Mexicana. “A la Mexicana” means that it has tomatoes, onion and green chiles; although each region in Mexico has their own version.

Our Molli version uses bacon and our Chicken Tinga simmer sauce from the region of Veracruz. And it is our go-to beef recipe when we have no idea what to cook for dinner. And, not only because they are pop in your mouth delicious, but also because they are perfectly seasoned and absolutely the easiest beef dish!

Also, you can vegetables and let them cook with the beef that last 10 minutes to make a rounded, one meal dish. Provecho!

In Mexico, these are called Puntas de Filete a la Mexicana. We call it Veracruzana because we use our Veracruz cooking sauce.

Course: Main Course
Cuisine: Mexican
Servings: 4
Ingredients
  • 1 ¼ lbs beef fillet or sirloin sliced in ½” strips cut crosswise
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • 5 slices thick bacon sliced in ¼” strips cut crosswise
  • 1 jar Molli Chicken Tinga Simmer Sauce
  • 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
  1. Pour oil on a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. When oil is hot but not smoking, add the bacon and cook for about 5 minutes.

  2. Add Molli Chicken Tinga Simmer Sauce to skillet, stir and cook over medium heat for 5 more minutes.

  3. Add the meat to skillet with the sauce and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.

Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until the meat has fully cooked. Serve with warm corn tortillas on the side and rice. Provecho!
