Cinco de Mayo, also known as the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over Napoleon III’s French army, then considered the premiere army in the world, on May 5, 1862.

One hundred and fifty three years later, we commemorate this date with a new battle, but this time in the kitchen. We’ve taken some iconic French recipes such as Croque Monsieur and Bouef Bourguignon, and paired them with Mölli’s true Mexican flavors to create a new and exciting fusion, that we’ve called #Frexican cuisine.

Unlike the Battle of Puebla; this time there are no losers, we are all winners. So, if you are into delicious food and cocktails and enjoy hosting friends; give any or all of these #Frexican recipes a try. We are certain they’ll be a hit. Feliz Cinco de Mayo, provecho and salud!

Onion soupThe French (Mexican) Connection cocktail – Cognac, fresh raspberries, Culiacan chamoy sauce and sparkling wine combine to make this fizzy, refreshing cocktail, inspired on Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris.

Mexican Ratatouille – The fusion of flavors from two southern regions, Provence in France, and Morelos in Mexico, makes this hearty vegetable dish an instant hit.

Croque Señor (croque monsieur) – A grilled ham & cheese sandwich topped with spicy béchamel sauce. The perfect finger food for your #cincodemayo party

Soupe de Cebolla (onion soup) – We added a little bit of “fonda” to this Bistro classic for a richer, tastier version.

Beef Borgoña (boeuf bourguignon) – Make this recipe once and you’ll wonder why you should  bother making anything else.
