Beef and beer stew

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Beef NY strip steaks
  • 1 jar Mölli Morelos Cooking Sauce
  • 1 Beer, Vienna lager style; (such as Negra Modelo, Shiner)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, halved and sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • Corn tortillas
  • 1 Avocado; sliced
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Tightly wrap the steaks in plastic wrap, and freeze for 20 minutes—just until it firms up. Remove meat from the freezer, slice against the grain as thin as you can, and set aside.
  2. In medium sauce pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook for 2 minutes until they start to soften. Add bell pepper strips and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Pour Morelos sauce and beer over onion and bell pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes. Add meat to sauce and cook for 5 minutes or until meat is no longer red. Serve beef and beer stew in shallow bowls with tortillas and avocado on the side. Provecho!
