  • ½ jar Molli Morelos cooking sauce
  • 2 tbsp pork lard
  • 2 cups cooked black beans pureed
  • 5 cups bean broth if using canned beans, use chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • ½ cup diced queso fresco
  • 4 corn tortillas halved and sliced in ¼ in strips
  1. Heat lard in a large pot. Add Molli Morelos cooking sauce, and cook for 2 minutes.
  2. Add beans, bean broth and salt. Bring to a quick boil, then lower heat to simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil in a small pot. Add tortilla strips and fry until golden on all sides. Remove and place over dry paper towels.
  4. Serve soup in medium bowls, and garnish with a few pieces of queso fresco and tortilla strips.
